 Description
[Machine Translation] The latest in black music from the Grammy Award-winning bassist/singer/songwriter! Esperanza's new album! Aiming for a pop and radio friendly album, Esperanza co-produced this album with Q-tip, one of the biggest names in the HipHop world! Her previous album "Chamber Music Society" (2010), which won her a Grammy for Best New Artist, featured longtime friends Leo Genovese (key), Terri Lynne Carrington (ds), Quintino Cinalli (perc), and This album expands the cast considerably. The players include jazz greats Joe Lovano (saxophone), Jack DeJohnette (d/p), and Billy Hart (ds), with hip-hop giant Q-Tip as co-producer. Vocalists of various personalities such as Algebra Blessett, Eulaulah Donyll "Lalah " Hathaway, Gretchen Parlato, and Lionel Loueke also contribute to the album, adding to its richness. Ten of the twelve songs on the album were written by Esperanza, including 06, a cover of "I Can't Help It" written by Stevie Wonder and Susaye Coton Greene for Michael Jackson's classic "Off The Wall". The song 09 is a cover of "Endangered Species" written by Wayne Shorter and Joseph Vitarelli, which appeared on Wayne's 1985 album "Atlantis". A deluxe edition of the album, which includes a DVD with promotional videos for all 12 tracks, will be released at the same time.
