フィールドを越えて活動するトランペッター類家心平が、自身のバンド"RS5pb" (Ruike Shinpei 5 pieces band)他で演奏を共にするピアニスト中嶋錠二と録音した感動的なデュオ・アルバム。プログレッシヴでエフェクティヴ、更にポストロック的なサウンドをアルバム録音で数多く残している類家心平が、全編スロー・ナンバーを中心とした演奏によってネクスト・フェイズへと進んだ意欲作。ほぼ毎日のようにライヴ活動をしてアルバム制作に大きな執着のなかった類家心平が、パンデミック禍で活動を制限された2020年、作品を残すことの意味や重要性を痛感。同時期に故郷・八戸の音楽的ベース基地でもある"saule branche shincho"からのオファーがあり同郷の中嶋錠二とのデュオ企画が実現した。コロナ禍の影響で実家に帰省できない等生まれ故郷との距離感を感じていた状況下だけに、八戸人脈と共に故郷で録音するという代謝作用のような出来事によって二人の演奏は自由と深みのある陰影、艶を増している。カヴァー曲は、フレッド・ハーシュ他多くのミュージシャンが取り上げたポール・モチアンの名曲(1)、アルゼンチン・ロックを牽引したスピネッタがスピネッタ・ハーデ名義のラスト・アルバム『MADRE EN ANOS LUZ』で残した哀愁曲(2)、マイルス・デイヴィス『クールの誕生』から(3)、名作フランス映画『男と女』から(4) (邦題「愛は私たちより強く」)、アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンが愛娘に捧げた名曲(8)、さらにスタンダード(7)(11)と美意識溢れる多彩なセレクト。オリジナル曲もRS5pbでもお馴染み、リチャード・ブローティガンの小説「愛のゆくえ」に出てくる女性ヴァイダをモチーフにした名曲(9)をはじめとした耽美的な世界ばかり。
