The duo's laid-back retro sound, right down to Naoki Sato's reedy organs and twangy guitars, is full of '60s pop culture references; mid '60s Beatles and Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Jefferson Airplane in particular. But make no mistake, their music is not a gumbo of nostalgia, homage and parody, instead, they have elevated their take on vintage sounds to an artform of its own with their first-class songwriting skills and KUMI's unforgettable vocals.
