『The Dark Night Rhapsodies』には、前作『Angels in Dystopia』(2022年)同様、世界情勢や社会問題、そして未来の見えない若者たちに対する自身の想いがこめられている。日々生まれる短いモチーフから構成に何年もかけた45分の完璧な音世界は、まさに日向ワールドの真骨頂。徹底的に弱者に寄り添いながら、作曲家としての自分にフォーカスした。悲しい曲もただ悲しいだけではなく、明るい曲もただ明るいだけではない。オーケストラ演奏に馴染みの薄いリスナーにも聴きやすい優しいメロディの曲が揃った。演奏はNetflix、Disney、Hollywoodをはじめ多くのフィルムスコアを手がけるブダペスト・スコアリング・オーケストラ。録音はブタペストのアビーロードとも称されるRottenbiller Studioにて行われた。ミックス&マスタリング・エンジニアは、坂本龍一、キース・ジャレット、マイルス・デイビス等のプロジェクトに参加した名匠オノセイゲン。全62チャンネルを、音響ハウスにて11日間かけてミックスダウン。渾身のSACD-Hybrid盤としてリリース。
